MCE PTA Mission and Goals

MCE PTA Mission Statement:

Mayde Creek Elementary Parent Teacher Association’s mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families within the Mayde Creek Community. We strive to support and advocate for our children by partnering with staff, families, and the wider community to create a safe and healthy learning environment allowing our students to excel personally, academically and socially.  

 

MCE PTA Goals:

  • To build community and integrate all families into the school.
  • To provide educational opportunities and curriculum support.
  • To recruit and empower our volunteers.
  • To communicate effectively about PTA events and opportunities.
  • To advocate for our children at local, district, and state levels.
  • To be a financially stable and well managed organization.

In order to achieve these goals, we will complete these actions: 

To build community, we will

  • Provide free or low-cost community building events for our students and their families.
  • Improve access to PTA benefits and activities to create an inclusive community.
  • Support charitable giving with programs such as a Veterans program and food drives.

To provide educational opportunities and curriculum support, we will

  • Support administration's efforts to improve the educational experience at Mayde Creek by providing educational grants for curriculum improvements.
  • Provide enriching programs.

To recruit and empower our volunteers, we will 

  • Provide volunteer training.
  • Show volunteer appreciation with Texas State PTA awards and recognize many volunteers by name and deed in our publications.
  • We also encourage our teachers by holding Staff Appreciation events throughout the year. 

To communicate clearly about PTA events and opportunities, we will

  • Use our newsletters, facebook page, PTA website, reader board, and bulletin boards to clearly communicate to all parents.
  • Provide for member feedback

To advocate for our children at a local unit, district and state level, we will

  • Appoint an advocacy/legislative chair.
  • Attend Legislative Assembly, Texas State Convention, Focus Day.
  • Share information about legislative issues using our newsletter, our website, Facebook, and our general meetings.

To be a financially stable and well managed organization, we will

  • Strive for 100% membership (one adult for every student in our school).
  • Continue to maintain 100% teacher membership.
  • Follow State and National best practice in standards of excellence.
  • Attend training opportunities at the local, regional, and state levels.
